5 Australian E-Designers Who Redo Your Home Decor Remotely

The extended Covid lockdown is making all of us look critically - and possibly unhappily - at our four walls, creating an irresistible urge to change our decor, furniture and furnishings.

You may have even considered booking an interior decorator to help you improve your home. But with many areas in lockdown with visitors to your home completely banned, you might like to book a virtual design consultation where all your contact is done via Zoom, phone calls and/or email.

Amanda Lee Interiors
Perth-based Amanda Lee Interiors offers 2-hour online consultations for Property Pre-sale (including changes to maximise your property's presentation for sale such as paint colours, decluttering, rearranging existing furniture and soft furnishings), Interior Styling (with an optional $150 moodboard fee per room such as this Hamptons-style moodboard) and before starting your New Build, including a step by step service to guide you in all your new build pre start selections, covering paint colours, fittings, fixtures, tiles and cabinetry.

The Painted Hive
Melbourne-based The Painted Hive offer three e-design options: Basic (from $250), Moderate (from $450) and Complex (from $650).

Basic is ideal for bedrooms, simple bathrooms, basic living rooms, partial floor plans.

Moderate is aimed at those wanting e-consultation on kitchens, open-plan spaces, basic facades, complicated rooms.

Complex is for whole house exteriors, complicated facades, fuill floor plans and difficult architecture.

 
All options include navigable 3D models, 360-degree panoramas, photo-realistic render images from overhead and floor level, written design overviews and up to 10 individual revisions of the final plan.

Furnishd
Based in Melbourne, Furnishd takes you through an easy, online step-by-step process, beginning with step 1, a design survey where they uncover your style, items you're looking for, budget, and what you'll be using the space for.

In step 2, the designer sends you a suggested layout of your home, an item list with dimensions where appropriate, budget allocation and a design aesthetic. The Planned service up to step 2 costs $849.

You can also choose to upgrade to the Transformed service for $2,849 which includes steps 1 and 2, and introduces steps 3-5. In step 3, you receive moodboards with expertly curated pieces from Furnishd's exclusive range of carefully vetted suppliers.

Move onto Step 4 which lets you use their personal shopping service, which will price-match anything you find at a better price, as well as give you access to exclusive Furnishd discounts.

And in step 5, Furnishd can help with delivery and set-up.

Silk & Stone
This Adelaide-based practice offers three levels of e-consultation for your choice of an office/study, bedroom, bathroom, nursery, living room, laundry design, kitchen, entry and hallway, or dining room.

 
Insider gives you one concept option (such as this glamour-inspired moodboard), a floorplan, shopping list, implementation guide, 15-day post-project support and one round of revisions ranging in cost, depending on the room type, from $450 to $1,150.

Signature upgrades the four first elements to include 30-day post-project support, 3D rendering and two rounds of revisions from $750 to $1,150. 

Concierge increases the service offering to 45-day post-project support, 3D rendering and two rounds of revisions, virtual 3D video walk through, exclusive trade only product selections, personal shopper and posted physical samples (where applicable), from $1,150 to $1,450.

The Whole Room
If you love doing DIY and want to take as much responsibility for your home decor as possible, you might want to select Central Coast, NSW-based The Whole Room's Designer Express option which costs $39 per room.

Simply supply a 360-degree view of your space you need help with and detail what you want to improve and/or fix and you'll receive a 10-15 minute video response to solve it so you can move forward.
 

When you're stuck on a particular element of a room, the Parts of the Whole Room option ($59 per room, minimum 3 parts) is perfect.

For example for your bedroom, you may need help finding the perfect bedhead, bedside table lamps and feature wall paint colour.
